Serengeti eyewear was launched by Corning in 1983. Initially struggling, it took the entrepreneurial spirit of Zaki Mustafa to save the company. However, through marvelling innovation such as the utilisation of photo-chromic and polarised lenses, the brand eventually gathered steam and is now a revered name in the eyewear industry. Their first range of aviator glasses was produced by industrial designer Tucker Vieminster; by 2000 the brand had been purchased by Bushnell.
