The new collection of Balenciaga sunglasses fuses unique and unconventional designs with undoubted luxury. The vision of Cristóbal Balenciaga has been perpetuated through the current artistic director, Demna Gvasalia, through masterful silhouettes, exquisite techniques and by constantly pushing boundaries.
The Twist frames are characterized by a pair of flat temples twisted once each at the centre. They are printed with a BALENCIAGA logo in a contrasting colour along the twist. Available in cat-eye, round and oval designs, the Twist sunglasses are a true statement piece.
Inspired by the SIDE sunglasses from the Spring Summer 2021 collection, the Trim collection has evolved the design, incorporating an assortment of frames which utilise thick metal rims as an alternative to injected nylon. The BALENCIAGA logo is stamped on the side of the left lens, as well as the side of the metal rim in a contrasting colour.
Balenciaga Shield 2.0 sunglasses take on a visor shape, providing a barrier across the eyes. Available in an exaggerated flat cat-eye shape and a rectangular shape, the Shield 2.0 sunglasses feature a metal BB logo placed on the bridge, in-between the lenses, as well as a lasered BALENCIAGA logo on the temple tips. These sunglasses are a powerful fusion of the iconic elements of the Shield and Ski models, with wire thin temples and a lightweight metal construction.
Crafted from injected bioplastic, the Balenciaga Xpander sunglasses assume a semi-rimless design with the curved lenses set atop the frame, in a rectangular or butterfly shape. The metal BALENCIAGA logo is prominently stamped on the middle of the left temple in a sporty silhouette, complementing the wraparound style.
The Balenciaga Mega boasts a thick cat-eye frame, built in reverse. The concave lenses bring a new look to the eyewear industry, with the ‘inside out’ aesthetic. The arms are constructed in the opposite direction to orthodox sunglasses, featuring the high relief BB logos on the temple interiors, with hinges and product information placed on the exterior.
